The Costa Brava is the favorite place among residents and tourists during the summer, and not for less, since its spectacular beaches, cozy towns and exquisite cuisine make this corner of Catalonia a little paradise.
In addition to the beaches, the Costa Brava has several cultural attractions, as well as natural landscapes that are worthy of a visit to admire and enjoy from the most beautiful viewpoints of the Costa Brava.
Charming viewpoints on the Costa Brava to visit in Summer
Ermita de Sant Elm’s viewpoint
The Ermita de Sant Elm, located in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, has a viewpoint that offers a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea to its visitors. From this viewpoint you can see to the north, the stretch between Tossa de Mar and Palamós; to the south we can see the beach of Sant Feliu de Guíxos in its entire splendor.
It is very easy to get here if you take the avenue that is at the end of the beach of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, it takes about 10 minutes to make this journey by car, and during the summer season, you can get there by the tourist train. Totally worth it!
Punta Molinet y Cap de la Barra’s viewpoints
At the end of Paseo Marítimo de l’Estarit, once you pass the port, you will find a 1 km pass by the sea that ends in the Molinet rock. This rock, that is about 30 meters high, is the nearest land point to the magnificent Medes Islands. These islands offer a beautiful landscape that we can enjoy from this viewpoint of Punta del Molinet and from the viewpoint of Cap de la Barra.
In Maura Rock, the most eastern mountain of the Sierra Montgrí, is the viewpoint of Cap de la Barra, which rises about 140 meters above sea level. This lookout point begins in front of the Port Lift Pier; to get to it just go up Cap de la Barra street and about 800 meters from the beginning of it and you will see the viewpoint that is very well signposted.
Castillo de Begur’s viewpoint
Located in the center of the village of Begur, this castle, which origins date back to the 11th century, offers one of the best views of the Costa Brava and the Empordà. From here, you can see Sa Riera, El Cañigo, Montgrí, Palamós, Cape Creus, the estuary of the River Ter and the Medes Islands.
Although it suffered many damages, because of different wars, its reconstruction during the twentieth century offers easy and comfortable access, which makes this viewpoint an ideal place to visit with family.
Tower Montgó viewpoint
More than 100 meters high, on the top of Montgó Mountain is the viewpoint of the Tower of Montgó. Getting here is very easy and has a large parking zone for cars.
From here, you can enjoy incredible panoramic views of Cala Montgo, l’Escala, Sant Martí d’Empúries, the Natural Park dels Aiguamolls, Coll del Pertús, Roses, Cabo Norfeu and Empuriabrava.
Spend a day at the beach or take an excursion in this viewpoint is a pleasant plan to do with family or friends, in which you can take advantage of the occasion and the proximity to enjoy an exquisite meal or dinner overlooking the sea from our restaurant in Cala Montgó.
Our restaurant, in addition to offering quality Mediterranean cuisine, has a pleasant sea view on its terrace, certainly the golden pinch to a magnificent walk in the summer days.
