Every spring in Empord\u00e0 village of L’Escala takes place <\/span>the Greco-Roman inspiration fair ‘Triumvirat Mediterrani’ <\/b>(Mediterranean Triumvirate). During the two days that are extended, which this year will take place on May 5th and 6th, there is a market of craft products with more than sixty stalls scattered around the streets of the urban nucleus.<\/span><\/p>\n

The market and activities<\/b><\/h2>\n

The ‘Triumvirat Mediterrani’ <\/span>offers activities for the whole family,<\/b> as well as pony rides, boat trips, an ecological carousel or street entertainment with gladiatorial fighting shows. Some of the curious stalls that you can observe are<\/span> the historical reconstructions of Roman culture<\/b> such as the parade of ointments, the craftsman that demonstrate the art of making knots, sauces makers, old fishing, writing or Opus musivum (mosaic). You will also be able to buy natural products such as the much appreciated salt from l’Escala and enjoy the several children’s activities offered by the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

A historical activity that we strongly recommend are the demonstrations of the Legion V Macedonica and the Cohort II Cent\u00faria de Blanes, a classic that surely will not lack in the edition of this year. Taking advantage of the occasion, the town also offers guided visits to the archaeological site of the MAC-Emp\u00faries, a unique archeological park that remains the essence of classical culture. And the only site in the Iberian peninsula where remains of Greek and Roman city are united.<\/span><\/p>\n

Restaurant Can Miquel in l\u2019Escala<\/b><\/p>\n

L’Escala is located at the southern end of the Bay of Roses, with the sea on one side and the Montgr\u00ed in the rear. If you come to visit it, you can become a spectator of <\/span>greek ruins, medieval villages and streets full of fishing utensils.<\/b><\/p>\n
