The weather accompanies and the days of disconnection are a luxury to despair the mind, but if you also have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful areas of Catalonia, the motivation to enjoy the long weekend of May grows.<\/span><\/p>\n

From Can Miquel, we want to make some suggestions for your possible plans during these free days to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Costa Brava. The favourite destination of many<\/span><\/h2>\n

Thanks to its splendid gastronomic offer, its picturesque villages and its immense natural wealth, the Catalan Costa Brava is a highly valued destination. There are options for everyone, big and small, lovers of the beach or the mountains, just simply choose what you want to do and put the plan in motion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Gu\u00edxols<\/span><\/h2>\n

Tossa de Mar is a small town but extremely charming. Famous for its Vila Vella, where you can visit the beautiful medieval castle known as El Castillo de Tossa de Mar. A construction dating from the XII – XIV centuries declared a National Artistic Historical Monument in 1931.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is located at the foot of the northwest slope between the Cabo de Tossa, with the beach right next to it and protected by a walled enclosure. It is currently the only example of medieval times that exists on the <\/span>Costa Brava<\/span><\/a>, hence its great attraction for visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just 15 minutes north is another picturesque fishing village, we speak of Sant Feliu de Gu\u00edxols, a coastal town with many beaches and coves to enjoy the sea, ideal to enjoy a few days of relaxation in the Mediterranean Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

A village in the top of the hill<\/span><\/h2>\n

Near Besal\u00fa, in the province of Girona, there is a small town called Castellfollit de la Roca, whose peculiar location is what makes it a great attraction.<\/span><\/p>\n

This town of about 1,000 inhabitants and less than 1 km2 in area is known as one of the smallest municipalities of Catalonia and stands on a basaltic rascal known as the Rascal de Castefullit that delimits the confluence between the rivers Fluvi\u00e0 and Toronell.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here it is almost mandatory to arrive by car, although it is almost never crowded, it is a good idea to arrive early to find a place to park and get to know the town on foot as it is the best way to do it. Many are the curious or amateur photographers who come to contemplate the town that seems to be stop in time.<\/span><\/p>\n

For beach lovers<\/span><\/h2>\n

If on the other hand, the relaxation you are looking for is only offered by the beach, in the area of l’Escala there are numerous beaches and coves ideal to disconnect, but we will mention the 2 most visited.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Platja de les Barques” or simply “La Platja” is the most central and well-known beach of l’Escala. A popular beach where the most emblematic festivities of the town are celebrated: the Cantada de Habaneras, the Fiesta de la Sal and the Greco-Roman Fair of the Triumvirat Mediterrani.<\/span><\/p>\n

The beach of the Moll Grec is also one of the most visited thanks to the history that accompanies it and the Hellenistic pier in the style of ancient Greek and Roman cities. From here, you can have access to Sant Mart\u00ed d’Empuries, the Museum of Archeology of Catalonia-Emp\u00faries and the Promenade of Emp\u00faries.<\/span><\/p>\n
